Spooktacular SSOM Halloween House

in Lifestyle on 10/17/14

Happy Friday! Another week down, and only two weeks until Halloween! Do you have a costume picked out yet? We are still assembling ours, if you follow me on Instagram you got a sneak peek this week…poor dog! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love decorating for the holidays. Whether it’s Easter eggs or Halloween bats, there is just something so festive about bringing the holiday spirit into my home. I was talking to a girlfriend this week about holiday traditions and how important they are to a family. We are still a “young” family so the traditions we have are “young”, but I do know that a holiday home will always be one!

So of course I had to spook the house. I didn’t go too crazy but did have some fun in a couple of spaces and I am excited to share them with you today! And what’s even better is that there are links to 15 Halloween Home Tours below… how is that for a treat?

Welcome to the haunted house! The front porch welcomes you with it’s pumpkins and mums.
Oh and of course leopard shoes.

Come on in! The foyer got a dose of candy corn.
Lucky foyer.
Next up is the kitchen dining room. Are you scared yet?!?!
The striped candles from last year made their appearance,  (can you guess what makes them striped?!?) and the new easy 10 minute “31” pillow pops out on the gray fireplace.
Watch out for those bats!
Funny story about the “31” pillow–
Husband: “Nice pillow…what is the significance of 31?”

Me: “Thanks. Um, Halloween… you know… October 31st?”
Husband: “Oooohhh…got it…Halloween…yeah..of course.”

Honestly, I am surprised he noticed the pillow. But I am even more surprised he still bothers to asks questions at this point!!!

A little simple vignette in the kitchen complete with a picture of the babies from last year.
Minus the one that was in my belly! ๐Ÿ™‚
The side courtyard got a little festive with a topiary pumpkin and some polka dot pillows.
I thought the green algae on the brick was a nice “scary” touch, no? ha. What can I say, it’s been a wet summer…
And the back door welcomes friends with a friendly “Happy Fall Y’all” pumpkin burlap door hanger.
Happy Haunting!
