{Five Minute Friday} Pumpkin Planters

in create, holidays, Inspiration on 10/27/16

Happy FRIYAY!!!!! What a fun time of year, I just love Halloween – the boys are besides themselves with Halloween coming up. It is definitely a fun time of year with a 5 and 2 year old! I hope you have lots of reasons to dress up in your costumes this weekend.

I am back today with another Five Minute Friday post. These posts are intended to provide simple inspiration for projects that you can accomplish in just a few minutes.  The idea is that you think to yourself- “HEY SELF, I CAN DO THAT.” (in five minutes give or take a few) And then you do it! (because it takes five minutes!)

While in Charleston last weekend, I mentioned that we spent the day on Saturday wandering the streets- which of course involves soaking up all of the beautiful homes. One thing my girlfriends and I just loved seeing were all of the pretty window boxes. We stopped and noted some of the plants they used and loved this one in particular with a pumpkin in it.

When we got home, we were all randomly inspired to recreate our own version of a pumpkin planter in different ways.  I loved getting text messages from my friends sharing their creations.  Special thanks to my Bestie A & Bestie K for sharing their creative juices.

They both used the Thriller, Filler, Spiller method for making these planters look great! This just means that the planter has a tall plant (the thriller), medium plants AND PUMPKINS! (filler) and a plant that will tumble out of the planter (spiller).

And here is mine. I didn’t quite make it to get any new plants, but I grabbed my go-to magnolia leaves and layered them under our pumpkin. We shall call this the lazy girls pumpkin planter…

Hope this inspired you to sprinkle a little pumpkin goodness in your planters! Happy weekend!

xoxo-

Heather
