Happy Black Friday! I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with family, friends and alll the food. Are you already home enjoying your cup of coffee after an early morning shopping outing? I am definitely doing some shopping today- but from the comfort of home. The boys have already been busy working on their Christmas lists so I want to snag some deals today. We are also going to get our Christmas tree today and I am so excited. It’s the last of the Christmas decorating in the house. Have you decorated yet?
Whether you are on your first (or third) cup of coffee, go ahead and check out from wherever you are shopping and come join me on the porch. It’s time for our Front Porch Coffee Talk!
First things first, I have listed a bunch of Black Friday sales down below that I will definitely be checking out today. This cute plaid shirt is 50% off and so cute for the holidays. I have outlined some of my fave finds below so be to check it out. I would also love to hear about any great sales you snagged today in the comments!
We have a few family trips this winter so I thought it would be fun to have matching family pajamas. Old Navy has cute options, and they are 50% off today! I went with the blackwatch plaid options.
Last year I purchased several needlepoint ornaments in the hopes of starting a collection I can pass along to the boys someday. Doesn’t this garland filled with them just make you smile? I had a crazy thought that I should learn to needlepoint for about 48 hours after I saw this. But then I remembered that I can barely get my laundry done at this point so this little hobby will need to wait.
Brian and I went to see Wicked at the Fox Theater last week. It was so fun to have a special night out and it’s always so fun to be at the Fox. Have you seen it? I thought it was cool that they turned the letters green in honor of Wicked.
My mom’s friend made 12 of these cute little snowmen candles for a group of her coworkers. How cute are they? These pillars can be found at the Dollar Tree and it looks like she just used a black and orange paint pen and cute red striped ribbon to make her snowman. Such a simple gift to make if you have a big group to give to.
With both of our families local, we typically get to enjoy two Thanksgivings. This year, we did my family the first half of the week when my sister came in town. You may recall that I put together a Birthday Bucket List last March on my 39th birthday. One of the items was to prepare a full German meal using my grandparents recipes. Well, I am happy to report that I can check this one off the list. From scratch we made Beef Rouladin, Spaetzles, Red Cabbage and Gherkin Salad. And it was divine!
While we were there, mom prepped cookie dough and had everything ready for us to make sugar cookies with the boys when we arrived. PSA to any Grandma’s out there: Do This For Your Children. I can guarantee that the mom is too tired and busy and overwhelmed to want to deal with making cookie dough and homemade frosting. It was such a treat to have it already made and a fun tradition to start! And it brought back lots of memories for my sister and I as well.
Of course, I couldn’t do a Front Porch Coffee Talk on Black Friday and not want to chat about the sales! So here are some of the things we have our eye on over here for Black Friday. I tried to put all the best sales below.
I love sharing my finds with you in my posts and it is always fun to see what you liked! Did you know that when you click on some of links that I share here, I earn a small commission? You don’t pay a cent more and it helps to keep me earn a side income as a blogger! Win/Win!:)
Happy Shopping!
