Front Porch Coffee Talk

in Front Porch Coffee Talk on 02/28/20

Good morning and happy Friday my friends. Today kicks off the boys spring break so I am gearing up for them to be off school for the next 9 days. Of course, we won’t have too much downtime because we are heading out on our first family ski trip. I AM SO EXCITED! So much gear sorting and planning and packing still to tackle this morning but I am making progress. This vacation definitely feels very different than our normal flip flops and beach bag vacation! But I am thrilled to have the boys try it for the first time.

So while I enjoy my last few hours of quiet before the spring break chaos- let’s chat! Grab your coffee and meet me on the porch for our weekly FRONT PORCH COFFEE TALK.

TACO TUESDAY

I posted this to Instagram this week and had fun debating whether soft or hard tacos would be the right choice.  One thing everyone agreed on was queso! We did have taco night on Tuesday but honestly I didn’t use soft OR hard tacos. We are always trying to choose healthier options so for our taco night (because it may be more than just on Tuesdays around here if I am being perfectly honest), we ate ours over sweet potatoes. I shared this recipe {SWEET POTATO TACO RECIPE} a few years back and if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it for a little healthier change!

Let me know in the comments which one you would choose:

{ I ❤️ ATLANTA} FLOWER CHILD

I finally got to check out a new-to-me restaurant this week when I met a friend for lunch. Flower Child is in the Shops Around Lenox (the shopping center next to Lenox Mall in Buckhead) and has a great menu of salads, bowls and wraps. If you are ever in the area looking for a fun lunch spot- I would definitely recommend! How cute is this exterior? And the inside was just as fun and cute! Have you been yet?

CUTE $35 SPRING DRESS ALERT

I’ve got this cute flutter sleeve dress on order and am very hopeful it is as cute on as it looks in the picture! I ordered the blue- but also love the lilac and white. (sadly the green was sold out)  I am hoping this is something I can easily throw on when running around this spring and summer- looks like it is comfy but also so cute! I also ordered this white top and this white dress and will let you know if they are winners.

HAIRCUT!

Went in for a trim, came out with a bob. I was a little flustered at first, but it’s growing on me. It’s only hair after all. But I do think it’s finally time I tried the collagen peptides that have been sitting in my Amazon cart for months! Has anyone had any luck with this working for faster hair growth?

SPOTTED AT HOMEGOODS

I shared my spring closet update this week and my Audrey Hepburn blowing bubble gum print always makes me smile when I walk into my closet. I spotted this canvas version at Homegoods this week for only $20 and absolutely love it! So cute for a closet!

TEACHER TRINKETS & TREASURES

Last December I started tossing all of the party favors, school trinkets, happy meal toys, etc that the boys bring home (what feels like on a daily basis) into a basket above my locker. I was sick of having all of these “treasures” littering my house, but also sick of tossing them to sit in the landfill. I wasn’t sure what I would do with them, but figured I would save them and figure it out. Well, I reached out a local teacher friend that teaches at a school with kids that could use a little extra love and asked if she could use them. She said BRING IT! I ended up going through all of our arts and crafts and cabinets and finding lots of things just sitting around that I also included.

The best part? I told the boys about it- and they got into it too! So when they were forced to go through their Valentine treats, they made a pile of  “treasures” for her. So much better than tossing it, and hopefully it helps my friend and brings a smile to her student.

Maybe you could do something similar for a teacher you know!

DRAPER JAMES PERFECTION

Don’t you just want to have a seat with your bestie in this little corner? I popped into Draper James yesterday and had to snap this to share with you. I love every single detail- but I especially love that pop of yellow and those perfectly perfect French Blue pillows. Which part is your favorite?
