Front Porch Coffee Talk

in Front Porch Coffee Talk on 05/01/20

Well here we are again. Wrapping up our SEVENTH week (i think?!?!?) of whatever we want to call this! Sheltering in Place? Quarantine? The Ultimate Test of Our Sanity? Whatever your current mood is, I am so glad you are here today to just take a few minutes for some fun lighthearted coffee talk. I think we can all use some down time in our day and I hope this finds you well in your corner of the world. We are holding on relatively well here, all things considered. When I get annoyed about homeschooling, the dishwasher that needs to be unloaded (again), or the meals and laundry that need to be dealt with- I REAAAALLLLY try to remind myself to be grateful for my sweet healthy boys, the fact that I have a home and dishwasher and a washing machine and that we have no shortage of food.  I would love to hear your quarantine confessions, so grab your coffee and meet me on the porch for this week’s Front Porch Coffee Talk.

ALLLLLLL THE TARGET SHOES ARE 30% off

A few weeks ago, I shared some Target sandals that were in my shopping cart and I am happy to report that they have all arrived and are all so cute! If you missed the sale last time, they are all 30% off again until Saturday so go snag a few pairs! And if you missed my Let’s Go Shopping post- you can catch up here.

DIY MANICURE

Even though Georgia opened it’s nail salons last Friday, I am definitely not planning to go get a manicure any time soon. (We are not comfortable with some of the restrictions that have been lifted, but it’s all so controversial so I don’t want to get in to it here) So I have been doing mine at home and it’s amazing what a difference it makes when my nails and toes are polished! A few years ago I shared all my tips and tricks fin a post or a “DIY Manicure Like a Pro”.  I also ordered this polish and I love the fun lavender-pink color.

QUARANTINE WIN OF THE WEEK

Monday morning was ROUGH. Actually, I have noticed that the past few Monday mornings have been tough. Just rough rough rough. So I did a thing. I decided to try to mix things up by introducing a family Minute to Win It Challenge. I looked online and found six games that looked age appropriate (ages 8 and 5) and games that we already had the materials at home. And then my friend even dropped a bag of Oreos in our mailbox for the Forehead Cookie game! (this one was harder than it sounded!) So far we have done three of the six games (we do one a night) and it has been a fun way to reconnect at night. We also Facetime my Mother in Law while we are doing it to give her a little entertainment.

Also, this happened. SCORE, right? Ha. What a time to be alive.

Another win this week was changing up our scene for our Zoom calls with friends. I got the back porch all cleaned out from the pollen and we have been out here almost nightly lately.

Also, I decided to mix up the breakfast routine and made omelets for breakfast every morning this week. I grabbed some spinach, mushrooms, red peppers and goat cheese. I wouldn’t say I won the “Wife of the Year” award but it was definitely appreciated!

QUARANTINE CONFESSIONS

Kidding, kidding… kind of. You know I love coffee and margaritas so I just had to share this one with you! 🙂

TIMEHOP MEMORY

The Timehop memories are so fun, but especially now when we are all locked down. Ahhhh, remembering the good ol’ days. (You know, like back in February when life was normal.)  This picture of my sis and me came up this week from four years ago. I love that it looks like we are soaring over the mountains! (in reality we are jumping off a one foot curb) Doing jumpy pics was our “thing” for a few years, I think we may need to re-institute this tradition ASAP!

Alright, I better get back to homeschooling this morning. ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS!

From my porch to yours- XOXO,

Heather
