What a year this week has been! Another “interesting” week to add to the craziness of 2020. I have felt lots of anxiety at times followed with peace because I know I don’t have any control over the outcome. At this point all I can do is pray for our country and our city and all of my fellow Americans! We have really used these past few days as a great learning experience for the boys from how voting works to learning more about past presidents to what the president’s role is. I know we all stayed up way too late watching the election coverage so grab your coffee and meet on the porch for this week’s Front Porch Coffee Talk .
TWILIGHT ZONE
In the early morning hours last Thursday morning we had a major storm (Hurricane Zeta) come through Atlanta. It resulted in taking lots of trees down around town and we were without power on Thursday, Friday and all day Saturday. I know Georgia Power was working as hard as they could and the state had nearly 1,000,000 without power and some people I have talked with didn’t get it back until Monday. It truly felt like we were living in the Twilight Zone for a few days…but we made the most of it by sitting on our front porch with candles and flashlights.
HALLOWEEN MIRACLE
Our neighborhood decided to Trick or Treat early last Saturday since we had not gotten our power back yet. However, just as the sun was setting on Saturday night- the power came on and there was a collective cheer all through the street. It was a Halloween miracle! We paused our Halloween fun and quickly ran home to run the dishwasher, start a load of laundry and turn on all the lights around the house! I have never been so happy to see these lights shining bright on our house.
SHAQ ATTACK
Yepppp, that is Shaq on our sofa. This past week marks the two year anniversary since we have had Shaquille O’Neal at our house! If you are new around here, two years ago a commercial was produced at our home and we had the pleasure of hanging with Shaq for two days. To read the full post- click HERE.
HOLIDAY READY
The boys had election day off of school and we didn’t have anything planned that afternoon. So I decided it was the perfect time to get our holiday closet and holiday storage attic organized. I purged and sorted and combined and swept and even VACUUMED the area. I even finally hung some wreaths on the wall that had been stacked around the floor. (why it took me 3 years I will never know…) I cannot tell you how good it feels to have spent a couple hours dealing with this space. It feels great to have things organized before the tubs all officially come out and the Christmas decorating begins!
