Hello and happy Friday! It’s our fall break and we are beach bound for a nice long weekend getaway. It’s always nice to have a change of scene and to have our toes in the sand! But before we head out let’s have a quick “chat” on the porch, shall we?

TRADER JOE’S FIND

Grabbed these haunted gingerbread house kits during my latest Trader Joe’s run – thought it would be something fun to do on a rainy day. I learned early on to get the boys each their own… and I also try to assemble them beforehand since that can take some time and patience! As I mentioned in this week’s haunted kitchen post– the boys love Halloween!

No truer words have ever been spoken. The weekday dinner struggle is SO real when it comes to sports. Can you relate?

Got these guys out of storage over the weekend and plopped them here. I usually put them out on the porch but I love them inside this year and they may just stay put here for the rest of October!

OUTDOOR REFRESH

Gave the back porch a fall clean up so we can enjoy some fires out here once it cools off a bit more! One major change is that I removed the blue and white striped rug that had been out here for years. Even though this space is covered, it was looking ROUGH so removing it instantly gave this space a new feel. It’s always nice to toss the dead plants and worn items – can’t wait to log some hours out here this fall!

PINK & RED?

I’ve been doing a little tweaking to the vignette at the top of our stairs here and there over the last couple of days. Currently I have a pair of white lamps placed on it that I have had for years. However, I spotted this lamp combo online and it has my wheels turning. What do you think about this red and pink combo for an unexpected color pop?

HOUSE TWEAKING

Speaking of tweaking- this hallway is next on my list to do. I am thinking a new valance and something fun with these bulletin boards. I love working on little bite size spots like this, similar to the mudroom art area that I recently just updated. Stay tuned!
