Hello friends and happy weekend! The boys are off school today and we officially kick off our spring break! We had a couple beautiful warm spring-like days here this week and I am definitely experiencing some major spring fever. However, for our spring break we will be COLD as we are heading to Montana to ski! Then we will have virtual school the week after spring break so it’s going to be an extra long “break.” I’d love to hear what your plans are for the weekend so grab your coffee and meet me on the porch for our weekly Front Porch Coffee Talk .
Don’t mind me just over here binging this! I am about half way through the series and definitely enjoying it. I love Kristin Hannah and went through a phase where I read several of her books- I love Firefly Lane. But this was several years ago so I am having a hard time remembering how closely it follows the book. I do love the way they are telling the story through the various decades. No spoilers but if you have watched it let me know what you think!
This blue caftan coverup is finally back in stock and is a dupe of this much more expensive version. Obviously it is not nearly as beautiful as the original but I do love this style of beach cover ups and the material will not wrinkle when you throw it in your beach bag- and the price is right. It’s on back order and will arrive on March 5th and I report back on whether it is a keeper… but I do know that it keeps going out of stock so you may want to go ahead and snag it!
TARGET DOLLAR SPOT ALERT!
Run to your Target and grab these cute topiaries for $3 from the Dollar Spot. I put them in larger terra cotta pots because what they come in is kind of chintzy but they are great little filler pieces for built ins or trays.
MONTANA OR BUST
As I mentioned our spring break starts today. We are taking the boys skiing and I am excited to check out a new ski destination! This year we are heading to Whitefish, Montana. You can see last year’s first family ski trip recap to Deer Valley Utah here. And yes, last year our spring break was the week before the pandemic hit and I published that recap post in July once I sort of knew which way was up or down!
I have been to Whitefish, Montana once before for one of the most epic blog outings ever-to visit the HGTV Dream House! That was such a whirlwind and I didn’t ski so I am excited to have the chance to visit again.
I spent some time sprucing up the front porch because the weather was SO nice this week! We still need to get through pollen season but at least it is blown off and cleaned up to enjoy for now!
I snagged this fun tray table from the Goodwill a few weeks ago for $20 bucks. I dragged it out to see how it looks and I am in love! Trying to decide if I should paint it or just touch up the natural (it is chipping) and after living with it the past few days I am definitely thinking I want to keep it brown.
My neighbor told me about a hack to help age terra cotta pots. I bought some brand new pots and am testing it out- will report back later about how it works. Any guesses what the secret is?
I finally went to the carwash on Tuesday. This was the backseat of my car on Wednesday morning. The struggle is REAL.
Alright, that’s it for now. Have a great weekend!
