Craft and School Supplies Organization

in Lifestyle, Organize on 01/29/16

Hooty-hoo! It’s Friday. Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? Is anyone else feeling a bit panicked that the first month of 2016 is already wrapping up?

So, let’s get real here. Is anyone else feeling a little bit of “Organization Inadequacy Disorder” right now? I mean, it’s the end of January so by now you have had a WHOLE MONTH to get your WHOLE LIFE organized! #inserteyeroll

If you are like me, your Facebook feed is all about how everyone has organized every nook and cranny of their home this month and everything is perfectly stored in labeled clear tubs. Or about how they read the book “Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and now their life is amazing with zero clutter. Or how they got rid of everything in their closet and now they have the perfect capsule wardrobe?

Yet, you are staring at clutter.

If so, then you are probably suffering O.D.I.  And that’s OK, because I am too. I must admit that I am a little bummed that January is ending and I haven’t purged my whole house, organized all-the-things, sorted out my closet, transformed my pantry to all glass containers, and cleared out our eighteen junk drawers…

Baby steps people.

If you are feeling “Organization Inadequate Disorder”, or O.D.I.- I have a quick and easy way to remedy that. This is such a simple way to achieve Craft and School Supplies Organization. If you don’t have kiddos, this can be used to corral your own personal crafts.

If you have a door, 20 minutes and a shoe caddy, you can improve your O.D.I. in 4 easy steps! Here’s how.

  1. Collect your kids craft and school supplies. Crayons, stickers, pipe cleaners, glue sticks, markers, etc. Find it all where you have it shoved and get it sorted.
  2. Pick a door. I picked the back of Sweet P’s door since this is mostly his supplies.
  3. Buy a shoe caddy. (It’s less than $10 on Amazon and will be there in 2 days. #LazyOrganizersRejoice!)
  4. Organize

Tip: Crystal Light drink canisters come in handy for sorting within the compartments.

Now stand back and admire your organization skillzzzzzzz. You are an organization master my friend.

Note- since little Sweet B is still into EVERYTHING, I safety pinned the bottom two rows up behind the organizer and am not using those compartments for now. Definitely don’t want this stuff within his reach!  #kidinacandystore

OK fellow O.D.I. sufferers, how about we plan to tackle one simple and inexpensive organization project each month? I promise it won’t be painful. If I can do it, you can too! Next month- it’s all about wrapping paper. (because we probably don’t NEEEEED 12 rolls and and 38 gift bags?!?!?)

xoxo-

Heather

Hey, I love this idea. I have one of these hanging on the inside of my pantry door to house all of those “little” packs of things that get lost in the shuffle: taco seasoning, muffin mix, drink mix additives, jello pudding boxes, etc. So handy and it cleared up my pantry shelves in the process. WIN WIN

Great idea for the pantry! Mine is a cupboard so no room to hang one there- and yes all of that stuff just piles up. 😐

Baby steps, Heather, baby steps! And I’ll confess that if I show you one organized space in my house, there’s usually a big mess right outside of the photo. 🙂 This is a great, inexpensive idea–way to go!
