Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

I’m Dreaming Of A White (HOUSE FOR) Christmas

in Christmas, HOME on 12/14/21

Well, looks like we won’t have a white Christmas here in Atlanta this year… but that’s OK! Because I’ve been dreaming of a WHITE (house for) CHRISTMAS…

and my dreams have come true!

After nearly two weeks of having painters here working, the exterior paint job all got wrapped up with a big red bow yesterday! So of course I had to run outside and take pictures of it before the sun went down.

I shared here a few weeks back that we were trying to decide on paint colors and that we were about to have the house painted. This was my first time living through an exterior paint job and when I shared the updates on Instagram, everyone went crazy asking questions! So I will be back with all of the details about the paint decision process, which colors we considered, and some details on the paint process itself after the holidays.

Today I just want to share a quick peak at the finished product all gussied up with her Christmas best and share a quick recap of what we did.

Here is a recap of the changes we made:

EXTERIOR: GREEK VILLA WHITE

We changed the exterior paint color from Benjamin Moore Ballet White to Sherwin Williams Greek Villa. You can see the before HERE.

GUTTERS: GRIFFIN

We got new gutters and painted them Sherwin Williams Griffin. It is a dark mocha brown color, and we painted the tin roof above the porch the same color to match the gutters.

SHUTTERS: REQUISITE GRAY

The old shutters were rotting and couldn’t be repaired so we had new shutters made. We changed from the traditional paneled shutters to the board and batten look and they are painted Sherwin Williams Requisite Gray.

FRONT DOOR – NEW COAT OF STAIN

The front door got a fresh coat of stain- WOW what a difference that made!

PORCH CEILING- ALPACA GRAY

And last but not least, the porch ceiling got a new paint of coat and it is now Sherwin Williams Alpaca Gray.

Then of course, I just pulled out the wreaths and big red bows I use every year and we are officially Christmas ready! Well, at least the exterior of the house is ready! 🙂

Merry Merry!

xoxo-

Heather

The house looks stunning! Love all the colors you chose and love, love the shutters. The red bows really pop on the white and grey. Merry Christmas!
