Are you drooling over all of the holiday home tours in blogland this week like me? Is it bad that I am *already* excited about decorating next year?!?! I have been sharing some of my faves over on my Facebook page, be sure to follow along for the “Daily Christmas Eye Candy”!
Today’s post is brought to you by the SSOM parents. Yep, my Mom and Dad! You know you have a good Dad when he calls you before he tosses his old ice skates to see if you want them! and Mom hit up an antique store and brought me home a new Coca-Cola tray and vintage wool plaid scarf a few weeks back. So timely too!
Of course I had to hop on over to my dishes and set a table with these new treasures.
I never claimed to be normal, y’all.
These ice skates remind me of my first memory of snow and ice skating on the frozen pond at my Grandparents old farm.
You see, I was born in South Florida.
Ice was something that came in cubes.
Snow was something I had heard of, and imagined it was a lot like sand.
Until one winter when they trekked us up to Ohio.
Back to where my parents grew up… to see snow!
Using this memory, I set a table filled with items perfect for a snowy day!
and I look forward to making sweet snow memories with my boys too!

Isn't it funny how a scene on a plate can spark a wonderful memory!! The photos reminded me of building snow forts at the end of the driveway when we were little – we would play outside til our toes and fingers were frozen – we never wanted to be called into the house!! Boy, have times changed!!

This is the sweetest post – It is fun to reminisce about the good old days, isn't it? And good call by your dad to ask you before tossing the ice skates! Too precious!
