Simple Southern Christmas Centerpiece

in Christmas, holidays, Our Christmas Home on 11/28/17

Hello hello sweet friends! Have you started your Christmas decorating yet? Maybe you are done? Or are you like me and still in that in-between phase of Christmas tubs everywhere and a half decorated tree? #babysteps  I really do enjoy the process of merry making this time of year but it sure is a process isn’t it? 🙂

Today I am sharing a Christmas centerpiece that is super simple to make but I love the impact it makes on the table or kitchen island. Last week after we hemmed and hawed and picked out our perfect Christmas tree, I did what I always do. I loaded up on the free tree clippings! I didn’t know yet what I would be using them for but #duh this is a no-brainer every year.

It didn’t take me long to come up with a couple uses for the clippings. In fact, I think within 10 minutes of bringing the tree inside I was already sticking clippings in various vases around the house. This vase centerpiece came together using inspiration from a set of Frazier Fir Thyme candles that are shimmery and have gold pine needles on them.  My obsession with these candles started last year when my neighbor was burning one in her house and I stopped by. I think she eventually had to kick me out and then send me home with one in order for me to leave because it smelled so good! 🙂

To make this simple Christmas centerpiece I started by grabbing one of my trophy ice buckets. (um yes I may have a trophy ice bucket addiction) But only one special one in gold! Then I added a handful of tree clippings at various lengths.

Then I went back through my “closet”. You know the one. It’s where I stash all of my extra goodies when I am not using them. I dug up some pheasant feathers and added those.

It didn’t feel quite “done” to me yet though. So when I found these fun cotton boll picks on sale it was the perfect final touch!

Here is a sneak peak of the rest of the table that I will be sharing on Thursday. Spoiler alert- see those JOY letters? Those were made using free Christmas tree clippings too. I love the way the centerpiece looks with the Thymes Frasier Fir candle collection. (this is the Statement set shown here) Have you ever smelled these divine candles? I kind of wish I could burn them all year! They smell exactly like a Christmas tree but not too strong. Seriously it is like instant Christmas when you light one!

Since the clippings were free and I already had the feathers and vase- this centerpiece cost less than $10. And it will last all season long!

xoxo-

Heather
