Hi friends! How are all the little Santa’s helpers doing? Things are slowly coming along over here at Peach Valley and I am close to sorting through the Christmas tub carnage. Can’t wait to start just enjoying the twinkling lights! However, I won’t be making much progress this weekend as the Big Sweet and I are Nashville bound this afternoon. I am SO pumped to finally explore this fun city. How it is possible I have never been is beyond me. We are the crazy people that got married December 18th (13 years ago!) so it is a rare treat that we can celebrate our anniversary.
I was hoping to have more rooms ready to share for you today but this cold I have been fighting all week really took me down so bear with me. Decorating a new house for Christmas is so super fun…and hard! Ha, everything is taking me really long. But before we roll out of town I wanted to share our kitchen dining area all decked out for the holidays. You can also get a little taste of the colors I am using this year.
Last year, I had a “Blue Christmas” and really emphasized all things blue. The year before I was mad for plaid. This year I am mixing two of my faves- navy blue and hunter green along with lots of metallics and neutrals. And of course, lots of free Christmas tree clippings and Magnolia leaves along the way.
The new house is an open floor plan so you see this dining area when you first walk in. I love this statement with the large JOY wreaths. It’s always fun to use what I have on hand in new ways and the black buffalo plaid pillows [I made mine but these smaller ones are a steal!) have made appearances in just about every room and every holiday. The blue velvet pillows are also staples and seem to work in so many scenarios. I saw these JOY wreath letters in the Ballard Designs catalog so of course I made my own. I will be back next week to show you how I did this. (Spoiler alert- it cost $3!)
I am in a wreath making mood because I also made these these fun boxwood wreaths for FREE y’all. So so easy- I will also be back to share how I made those.
I love this detail on the chair.
I shared this simple centerpiece idea yesterday which really pulled it all together.
Alright! That’s all for today for me but there are lots of great tours linked up below of so many beautiful bloggers homes. I hope you are inspired! I know I am! ALSO- there is a $300 Paypal giveaway to enter. Ho ho ho!

You are speaking my language with the navy and hunter green color scheme. And to top it off you pop some buffalo check in there too! Gorgeous! I love that you made the giant JOY for $3. That’s incredible!

I’m totally inspired by your homemade wreaths. I’ve been telling my husband I want to try this this year – with all the evergreens on our property, there’s no reason not to try.
