A few weeks ago I sent out a text to seven boy moms in my older sons grade. They were all moms I adore but don’t get the chance to catch up with enough. The text asked if they were available for a Galentine’s Dinner at my house and within 5 minutes all of them were not only in, but the menu had been decided with everyone bringing something to contribute. Yay!
But here is the thing. I almost didn’t do it. There are always a million reasons why. The dining room rug is literally in the garbage (thank you Millie). The dining room chairs are stained. (thank you children) I don’t have time to make a big fancy dinner. (we ate pre-made lasagna from a local restaurant.)
Guess what? None of that mattered! It was just fun to get everyone together!
Similar to The Favorite Things party I hosted in December, a Galentine’s Dinner Party was something that I thought sounded like a good reason to get some girls together and was happy that I decided to to pull it off. Entertaining is fun, but a theme just makes it more fun and who doesn’t love Valentine’s Day? I set a pretty pink table using all the pretty china, I came up with a signature pink drink, and I even wore a hot pink skirt. So let’s take a look at some of the snapshots from the set up.
The Table
I pulled out my fancy china from my husbands grandmother and her pretty gold goblets and silverware. I added my thrifted floral china. And of course lots of fairy lights and votives. The pink heart plates were a last minute addition and just pulled it all together.
My tip for a busy mama? I set this table over a week before the dinner party and took my time getting it right over a couple of days. That way I wasn’t running around the day of trying to get it ready!

The Flowers
I made two simple flower arrangements. One was a mix of pink carnations. And the other I shared in this post with a few different Trader Joe’s bouquets. The pink carnations are still in perfect condition over a week later- why are carnations so under rated?
The Signature Drink
I knew I wanted a pink drink to serve and landed on a simple Paloma. But my favorite part is the cute vintage punch cups. I spotted a punch bowl set at my thrift store a few weeks ago and brought the whole set home. I have memories of a punch my Aunt KK used to make every Christmas and plan to make it for my family this year! But for now I just loved these cute cups for our dinner party.
The Party Favor
I ordered this set of pink heart sunglasses and placed them on every plate. If you know me personally you know I love a good ol’ party prop!

Yay for a girls night out! But IN! 🙂
